This chandelier came from China, which worried me. It was packed well, as were the crystals, but unassembled. I had ONE MAJOR ISSUE - The directions for this item that costs several hundred dollars were A DISGRACE. The company should provide a manual with ample text directions that walk the customer though the install. This one has only cryptic pictures that show you on which tiers the A, B and C labeled crystals get hung. Maybe they thought it was self-explanatory, but after hanging a few crystals (it took 5 hours to completely finish them all!) I realized that each one has detail on the connecting gold bands between the crystal pieces, and that the bow-tie pattern should face outward. I wasn't made aware of that, hadn't noticed it earlier, and so I had to go back and change several of them. Also, you have to fine tune each strand to take the kinks out of how they were assembled in China. Maybe some of that occurs in shipping, but if you don't the strand won't hang straight down. Another BIG CONCERN was once the light was installed and hung BEFORE applying the crystals, IT DID NOT HANG PLUMB, it tilted! I was SO afraid this thing was going to be an off-center bust! Seeing it out of balance, I nearly packed it up and shipped it back. I wondered "Will the crystals make a difference? Do I need to balance it NOW, or wait?? And just HOW do I balance it??" In the end you begin to see that, by the time you hang all the crystals, the center of gravity is low enough that it DOES hang level - BIG WHEW! But it would have been VERY NICE that somebody took the time to explain THAT in a reasonable instruction set! OK - Now that it is finished and wired to a dimmer switch (a must!) -- I can say that it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and a real eye-catcher; well worth it! I hope the gold is real plate and does not tarnish like cheap polished brass. If the instructions had explained all my concerns as I built it, I'd have given it 5 stars.
