I bought two of these to hang over my two craft/sewing tables. I installed a switch on the cord. I liked them so well that I bought a third one for over my work table (home business). Very well made and really does a good job. highly recommend these. update 8/17/2012 Please make sure that you understand that these do not come completed with plugs on the end. This way you can make the cord to the correct length for you. I first tried to put a switch in the cord itself, but I found it too cumbersome, so I put those wires back together and bought these GE 52149 Handy Switch Grounded White. PERFECT SOLUTION. I have a wall mounted power strip behind my tables and these two switches are plugged into there, so they are an arms length away from the sitting position. I installed 5000K 1300 lumen CFL bulbs.
