Feit Electric CFC/DM/300/LED 4.8-Watt Candelabra - 40 Watt Replacement - 300 Lumen Reviews
I have been slowly converting my entire house to LED lights for the last couple of years. As of right now, it is about 20 percent incandescent, 10 percent CCFL, 40% CFL and 25% LED. Despite my goal of eliminating all power hungry filament bulbs, its hard to find LED's that can replace Halogen and Candelabra lamps, since the fixtures are either dimmable, small or both. So far, of the 20 Candelabra lamps, 10 are CFL, the rest so far have been incandescent. The LED's available to replace them have been either too large, non dimmable, too dim, too expensive or all four. The Feit Candelabra LED's are the first Dimmable LED's that are just as bright or brighter than the 40W incandescent lamps they replace, and at a reasonable price of around $15. I got mine through Polarray which was linked through Amazon, but you can order it directly from them, just Google the name. Polarray appears to stock these when no one else has them available. What you get: True 40W replacement bulb at 300 Lumen Pretty close to Incandescent light color at about 3000K. Strangely enough, they don't list the Kelvin, but I would say they are a bit Whiter than 2700K, at around 3000K - 3200K. Haven't noticed any CRI issues. The dimming works flawlessly with my standard ceiling fan incandescent dimmer. Note that on many ceiling fans that use the wireless remote, you may need to leave one incandescent in as a load. On my remote controlled ceiling fan in a different room with different LED's, using all LED bulbs made them flash constantly. They are close to instant on. They are very compact and will fit in most Candelabra fixtures. They only use about 4.8W of power which is close to 90% less than the 40W incandescent they replace. In my case I went from 160W to under 20W. Possible cons: They are not instant on. They have about a .5 second delay before turning on. The reason I mention it is because when I turn them on, there is just enough delay between me turning on the switch and my brain wondering, Where is the light? before they turn on. I also mention it because many other LED types I have are true instant on with zero delay, those are not. They probably won't fare well long term in completely enclosed fixtures, especially small ones, since they will require some ventilation. At $15 each, they are very reasonable for a LED, especially dimmable and 300 Lumen. So far, I'm very happy with the 4 I got so far. I have an almost enclosed fixture that is just a hair too small for these to fit since it is designed for Candelabra globes. I plan on doing some minor modification and testing to see if I can make these fit, and see how well they hold up. Very impressed with those. Been waiting for a bright and dimmable Candelbra LED and it appears it is finally here.. this is my Feit Electric CFC/DM/300/LED 4.8-Watt Candelabra - 40 Watt Replacement - 300 Lumen reviewsFeit Electric CFC/DM/300/LED 4.8-Watt Candelabra - 40 Watt Replacement - 300 Lumen Specs
